Paper: Personal Philosophy and Career Goals In this paper, you will create your own person nursing philosophy and career goals. The purpose of this assignment is to reflect on one’s personal values, beliefs, and assumptions as they relate to professional practice and examine your personal, professional identity within the context of nursing practice. Personal philosophies are typically short. Your paper should be no more than three (3) pages, excluding title and reference pages. Current APA formatting is required. In the first section, you will compose your personal nursing philosophy. In the second section, describe three (3) personal goals that you want to meet in your professional nursing practice during the next five years. Describe the steps you will use to meet them. Use current (< 5 years old) nursing literature to support your findings. For the first section: Compose your personal nursing philosophy and include the following: Accountability Compassion Professionalism Issues that are important to you as a nurse (i.e. advocacy, honesty, respect, etc) Metaparadigms of nursing (http://www.ehow.com/list_6106429_four-basic-metaparadigm-concepts-nursing.html) Person (human beings) Environment Health Nursing For the second section: Describe three (3) personal goals that you want to meet in your professional nursing practice during the next five years. (obtaining my BSN, The Academy of Certified Brain Injury Specialists (ACBIS) certified, and The American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) certified) Describe the steps you will use to meet them and why you chose them. Some examples are earning certification in your area of expertise, continuing your education by earning another degree, etc. (I currently work on the Traumatic Brain Injury Unit.)
