The three careers that I choose include teaching, journalism and diplomacy.
Teaching career
The primary duty for a person who decides to join the teaching career is to educate students. There are many area of teaching that one can choose to specialize in. One may choose to become an early childhood education teacher. In this case, one should select a major in early childhood education at the university or college.

This career fits in with my personality. I like teaching other people in both formal and informal settings. I have an outgoing character that I believe that all my students would like. Additionally, as an aspiring teacher, I am always keen to lead by example. This is an important quality that is always expected of teachers. I find it thrilling to impart knowledge to large audiences. In general, I enjoy the knowledge acquisition experience and the transformation it brings about in people’s lives.
In the current market, high school teachers are among the most well paid civil servants in the U.S civil service, with a high school teacher earning an average monthly salary of $15,345 (Duane, 2002). They also enjoy a permanent tenure of employment. In order to be a teacher, one needs to have a Bachelors’ degree in Education, with a major in a specific area that one wants to concentrate on. For instance, someone wants to teach history in high school must pursue a Bachelor of education degree with a major in history.
Teaching is a noble profession. Everyone the world over respects teachers. The main disadvantage is that it does not lead to hefty financial rewards. It may also be very demanding especially for a person who has a family. The most interesting fact about teaching is that teachers do not have the monopoly of knowledge. In the process of teaching, they are also learning new things all the time. One should go through primary, high school and university education in order to become a teacher. At university, one has to be trained as a teacher, and then as a specialist in a certain areas or areas of knowledge. For instance, a historian must be trained a teacher to be able to teach history. For this reason he needs to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Education with the history option.
Journalism
The typical duties for this profession include editing, writing, reviewing written work, commenting on current affairs through articles and broadcasting. Journalists also collect news and information and relay it to newsrooms for publication. Some journalists work as reporters, others as editors and yet others work as newscasters.
I have a highly inquisitive character, which I believe fits in with the daily work of a journalist. I have an insatiable desire to learn new things all the time. I follow current affairs and I always have a comment on any issue. In the current market, the highest paid journalist earns $8,117 monthly while an average journalist earns $5,084. At the entry level, journalists earn a monthly pay of $2,552. The job has high stature and in the case of reporters and anchors, glamour.
One needs to have university education in order to get a job as a journalist. A BA in Journalism or communication studies is very important for people who want to follow this career. If one wants to advance in the career line of journalism, particularly at the management level, it may be important to pursue a masters’ degree in management, communication studies or international relations. The choice relates on the prospects for career progression and personal interests. Working as a journalist is challenging and interesting. One is always walks along the path of information. To prepare for a journalism career, one should develop interest in current affairs.
Diplomacy
Diplomacy is an interesting career that involves representing a country at the international level and resolving conflicts locally, regionally and internationally. Diplomats are widely travelled people. They dignified people, people of integrity. They are difficult to define in both radical and moderate terms. They take radical or moderate measures depending on the prevailing circumstances. in
I have been very instrumental in resolving conflicts among my friends in college, high school and elementary school. I can therefore make it as a diplomat. I like the job that these people do.
In the U.S’s current market, the highest paid diplomat earns a basic monthly salary of $20,285. There are many other allowances that make the net pay $31, 120. The job outlook is very positive. The job has many promises both on the political and professional level. One gets to meet dignified people, heads of states and governments as well as foreign representative groups of one’s country. One not only meets these people; he also gets to address them.

A bachelor’s degree in international relations or political science is a prerequisite to landing in the diplomacy career. Career progression may be shaped by more educational qualifications such as a masters’ degree in political science, public policy or international relations.
The best thing about diplomacy is that they are respected because of their mediatory powers. The worst thing about them is that they are key players in international politics, where a state of anarchy exists. I discovered that foreign embassies where diplomats’ offices are housed are immune are a property of the government that these diplomats represent.
For one to become a diplomat, one needs to develop a mediatory attitude towards conflicts and disputes. One should always be keen to apply the concepts learn in school to conflict resolution.
